How Long Does Mental Health First Aid Certification Last

Mental Health First Aid logo AHECWW partners with local communities and organizations to periodically offer Mental Wellness Kickoff Aid trainings for professionals and community members throughout western Washington.

Trainings consist of a full viii-hr day (normally from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm) with a dejeuner suspension. Those who successfully complete the full 24-hour interval are eligible for a Mental Health Starting time Help certificate issued by the National Quango for Behavioral Health. The certificate remains valid for three years. Class size is limited to 30, and, through grant funding from the State Department of Health, the trainings are often offered free of charge (value $170). The form is corking for people of all backgrounds. Students in allied health courses of report are encouraged to consider this training.

Why Mental Wellness Starting time Aid?

Mental Wellness Commencement Aid is a project of the National Quango for Behavioral Health

Why mental health first assistance? Mental Health First Assist was originally created in Australia in 2001 under the auspices of the Academy of Melbourne, and is at present international with programs in countries such as the Great britain, People's republic of china, Canada, Finland and Singapore.

The National Council for Behavioral Health – a national trade group with more than ii,500 member organizations serving millions of Americans nationwide – helped bring Mental Health Outset Aid to the United States in 2008 with the goal of making information technology as common as traditional First Assist and CPR are today.

Upcoming Trainings

Due to COVID-nineteen public health considerations, in-person trainings are temporarily suspended.

For virtual grooming, students will complete a 2-hour self-paced online grooming prior to their scheduled training date. Virtual preparation will have identify over Zoom during a six-hour time period.

Standing Teaching Credits

Participants who complete the MHFA class may exist eligible to receive continuing teaching credits (CEs) for Mental Wellness First Help courses. After completion of a MHFA grade, participants will receive a certificate of completion which they can submit to their board of choice.
